door

Xavier Cardoso

you appear in my thoughts

with no warning or invitation.

from the moment I think of you,

day and night have no other topic,

because you appeared unannounced, and I opened the door

and I let you in.

I’d like to have control over the door that lets you in,

but since we kissed,

I think the lock on the door stopped working, and now

you have free access, with no need to ask or alert.

I felt at home with your kiss,

but I feel homeless since that night.

give me your lips once more,

I need a place to spend the night.
